Shhhhh. I’m going to let you in on a little secret.
I’m not exactly what you’d call a fashionista.
I know. Shocking.
Don’t get me wrong. When the occasion calls for it, I can rock a LBD (Little Black Dress) like nobody’s business. In fact, this 30-something mama cleans up pretty darn nice.
But, let’s get real. As soon as the event is over, I’m outta that dress in less time than it takes the latest Disney starlet to fall from grace.
Or approximately 0.05 seconds.
I’m far more comfortable in a cozy fleece and jeans. Or better yet, sweats.
When it comes to accessories, I’m even more apathetic. You’ll never see this mama sportin’ a Coach bag.
Do you know how many fleeces I could buy with that money?!
More importantly, do you know how quickly Monkey would destroy a designer bag?
Just call her the Usain Bolt of destruction!
I’m pretty sure Louis Vuitton care instructions don’t cover a dip in the potty.
So, while I appreciate the craftsmanship and detail that go into designer purses, I’ll stick to functional, stain-resistant bags for now.
Beautiful Bags Made to Last:
Kavu Product Review
Made of durable materials featuring fun prints, KAVU bags are designed to withstand everything nature throws at them. If these bags can withstand the elements, surely they can survive a toddler onslaught!
My Vintage Posey Sydney Satchel arrived shortly before our trip to Maine. Perfect timing!
Monkey’s diaper bag was bursting at the seams with diapers, wipes, snacks, extra clothes, and other necessities, so I needed a bag to hold my stuff.
The Sydney Satchel was the perfect companion for our trip and has become my everyday purse.
What I Love
At first glance, the slim profile of the Sydney Satchel is deceiving. Don’t let it fool you!
The bag has plenty of room, and I carry my wallet, phone, Kindle, charger, and sunglasses with room to spare. When I’m running quick errands with the girls, I throw in a spare diaper and wipes.
At the same time, the bag isn’t so big you’re constantly digging around to locate chapstick or other essential survival items.
Plenty of Pockets
Featuring a front, curved zip pocket with key snap and back and interior zip pockets, you can easily secure valuables. I keep my phone and keys in the front pocket for easy retrieval.
Two interior slip pockets provide quick access. On our trip, I kept my charger and sunglasses in these pockets.
Durable & Adorable
The sturdy, external Force 10 Canvas is perfect for my busy and often messy life. No need to worry about Monkey scratching up the fabric.
The interior is lined with nylon fabric for easy care.
And with tons of cute patterns, there’s a satchel to match your personality.
Ergonomic Contour Design
Featuring a contour design and adjustable shoulder strap, you can adjust this over-the-shoulder bag for ideal length and maximum comfort.
What I Didn’t Love
I could find little fault with the Sydney Satchel. Whether I’m embarking on a long trip or just running errands, I like to travel light.
I pride myself on rarely carrying more than phone, keys, and wallet, so the 13 x 15 satchel is the perfect size for me.
If you like to carry everything but the kitchen sink, this might not be the bag for you.
Making the Grade
The Kavu Sydney Satchel earns a solid A for travel and everyday use.
With plenty of unique patterns and a timeless design, it’s a great bag for any age. Retailing at $45, it won’t break the bank either!
